A true Floridian, Kelsey was born and raised in Tampa and grew up going to the beach and basking in the sun! Her desire to go out of state for college lead her to the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), where she majored in communications. Experiencing Alabama football and 3 National Championships certainly added to the excitement, but by the time her 4 years was up, Kelsey was ready to move on. After graduation she landed a job in the heart of Atlanta, at a Gannett owned company where she was part of the Video Production Center.
The detail oriented and multi-tasking person that she is, Kelsey tackled the long hours and multiple deadlines that a high-stress newsroom presents, and she certainly attributes this first job to launching her career and preparing her for the fast-paced road ahead. Although Atlanta was impressive, when the love of her life asked her to move to Vienna, VA, she said yes. I mean Virginia is for lovers, right! She was offered a job at WUSA9 in DC, later moved over to FOX5, and then ultimately landed back with Gannett at USA TODAY where she worked for the last five years. Here she was involved in communicating with multiple newsroom and USA TODAY Network teams, in-taking big video projects and closing the loop by reporting key metrics after stories were published, and much more.
She and her husband Michael bought their first home in Vienna in October 2020 from the Keri Shull team and have loved getting to know all of their neighbors. Kelsey loves to cook and enjoys entertaining whenever she gets the chance. She and her husband are obsessed with their rescue lab, Wallace. You can follow him on Instagram @notorious_l.a.b._wallace.
