Buckingham is an Arlington neighborhood with a unique and diverse character that often appeals to young professionals. Although most of the residents of Buckingham choose to rent their homes, there are also condominiums and single-family homes available for purchase in the neighborhood.

The area is great for people interested in historical homes and buildings. Located within Buckingham is the Buckingham Village Historical District, featuring lovingly-preserved gardens and housing complexes which were originally built in the 1930’s.

Most of Buckingham is within walking distance of the Ballston Metro stop, giving residents access to D.C. and the outlying areas via the Orange and Silver lines. For days when you don’t feel like traveling into the city, you can easily travel to Ballston Quarter, a recently-renovated shopping center, for plenty of shopping and entertainment options.

For education, several schools service the Buckingham area. Options include Washington-Lee High School, Swanson Middle School, and Long Branch Elementary School.
