Pierce is a new 26-story, high-rise condo building currently under construction at 1555 Wilson Boulevard in Rosslyn. The Pierce is one of three new residential towers being built as part of the Highlands project by Washington D.C.-based developer Penzance.

This condo building is expected to have 104 condo units available for purchase in 2021.

Amazing views and sleek design

Developers are taking full advantage of the Pierce’s hilltop location with its sweeping view of the Potomac, the Georgetown D.C. skyline, and Shenandoah Valley. Large private balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows look out on this vista.

Inside, the condo units will have sleek contemporary design. Chef-inspired kitchens will boast oversized quartz countertop islands. Bedrooms will be spacious, and master baths will have heated floors.

Units in the Pierce will average 1800 square feet. 40% of Pierce condo units will have direct access via private elevators.

Amenities: Resort-style pool and 24-hour concierge service

Pierce condo owners will enjoy access to a rooftop resort-style pool 27 stories above the street – and a terrace for dining and entertaining.

Homeowners of the Pierce will also have access to a two-story fitness center. The reception area is planned to be large and impressively elegant, with 24-hour concierge service available for everyday needs.

Homeowners of the Pierce will have onsite garage parking and indoor bike storage.

Gateways to D.C. culture and travel hubs

It’s a five-minute walk from The Pierce condo building to the Orange, Blue, and Silver Metro lines via the Rosslyn Metro Station. Georgetown, the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian and many other cultural draws are very close by.

Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and Union Station are all within easy reach. Rosslyn itself is a walkable urban village, with virtually all daily errands accessible by foot.

About the Highlands project

The Pierce is part of a development project called the Highlands, named after the hilltop location and views afforded by its glass towers.

The other two new towers of the Highlands are named Aubrey and Evo.

Apartment tower Aubrey will be a 23-story building with 331 rental units ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom unit layouts. Aubrey’s average unit size will be 980 square feet. Like the Pierce condo building described above, Aubrey will feature balconies, a rooftop pool, a private club, and fitness center.

Apartment tower Evo will stand 27 stories tall with 449 rental units. Average unit size will be 860 square feet. Like Aubrey, Evo will offer plans ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. It will also have 10,000 square feet of rooftop amenity space, with plenty of opportunities to sit and reflect or socialize with other tenants.

In total, the Highlands development will create:

  • 104 condos
  • 780 apartments
  • 40,000 square feet of retail
  • A new north-south connector street to make Wilson Boulevard more accessible to 18th Street N. on foot
  • New, state-of-the-art fire station
  • An improved Rosslyn Highlands Park

The Highlands project replaces a six-story office building and an outdated fire station.

Retail locations announced so far include a CVS pharmacy and the boutique gym Vida Fitness.

A new secondary Wilson School is also under construction at 1601 Wilson Boulevard, and is expected to open in fall 2019.

Penzance broke ground on the Highlands project in October 2018. Because of the scale of the project, units from the three new Highlands residential buildings will become available between early and late 2021.
